I can change the way I feel if I work hard enough at it. Over time it becomes easier to manipulate my emotional reactions to every kind of event.
I can even stop desire for physical things.
What am I supposed to hold on to? Who am I supposed to make myself into?
You could make yourself into a Buddha. Attachment is suffering, without attachment you don't suffer. Once you live this, you are enlightened and thus, a Buddha. Good luck with that. People might think you're a real space case and a meanie.

Not suffering does seem kind of appealing.
ReplyDeleteI've never enjoyed being really annoying though. Sometimes I am really annoying without realizing it, though.
It will probably be hard to give up attachment.
I'm gonna try it.
